Glaze et ux, to Ed na Mae Williams, Brevard fiaL-4-.*___ Sunday, August 29th •» Memorial Services For Cooks Held At First Baptist Church The entire 11 a. m. service at the Brevard First Baptist Church on Sunday, August 29th, was dedicated to the memory of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cook, the young Brevard couple found shot to death in their home August 24th. me luuss were active in rne church and Sunday School and were in charge of the young people’s college program at the church. At the request of the Cooks’ family, the regular church program was not interrupted. Funeral services were held in Boone, North Carolina ear lier. In a somber and appropriate memorial, the Reverend Art Fore, Education Minister who gave the scripture reading said: “Death takes us off a treadmill; brings realization that our life does not continue endlessly . . . and nothing, not even death, ever separates us from the pow er of God.” “Baptists bury their dead in triumph,” said First Bap tist, pastor the Reverend Rus sell Willis . . . “In gladness of salvation for the ones de parted.” The College Supper and ser vicei, which was scheduled for Sunday evening, August 29!h, and which would have been the Cooks' responsibility, was not cancelled. This, it was believed, was the way the Cooks would have wanted it. Fred R. Cook, an industrial engineer at the Olin Corpora tion plant at I’isgah Forest, and his wife, Sandra Lee Cook, who taught at Brevard High School, were found shot to death in their home at 122 Allison Road in north Brevard on August 24th. Case, Henderson ville, District Deputy Grand Master of the 60th Masonic Dis trict, has notified the officers and members of Dunn’s Rock Masonic lodge that he will pay his official visit at a stated com munication of the Temple on East Main street, Thursday, Sep tember 9th. Mr. Case asks all officers and members of the local Masonic lodge who have in their pos session one of the OSW hooks to please bring them to the meet ing for inspection. Clifford W. Frady. Worship ful Master, states that since this is the first official visit of the new District Deputy Grand Master, he urges the officers and members to make every cf fort to attend this important communication. Several Masons from both Henderson and Polk counties are expected to accompany the District Deputy Grand Master to Brevard. The Master also ex tends a cordial invitation to all visiting Masons. The Greeks Have A Plant For It The people and industries of Hermoupolis, the capital of Syr os in the Aegean Islands, now obtain their domestic water reouirem ents from the Aegean Sea, thanks to a 220.000-gallon P'l-day desalination plant. To handle the highly corrosive salt water, about 115.000 feet of copper-nickel itubing are used in the desalination plant.
