I thought we played better against Tuscola than we did in our opener against T. C. Roberson, but we’re still mak ing too many mistakes. Man, those penalties are eating us alive!” Brevard has been penalized a total of 265 yards in the first two games. Coach Emory stated that Brevard’s defense was much better against Tuscola, and he cited Ronnie Banther and Mitchell Burr for outstand ing defensive performances, as well as Steve Morgan and Ronnie Whitmire. Several Blue Devils were al so acclaimed for good offen sive performances, including Dennis Clark, and Jacob Nor man* who blocked beautifully when not carrying the ball. Coach Emory stated that Swain had ' three good ball carriers in Charlie Williams, Kenny Oates and Nat Wat.son. “The Maroons have averaged scoring over 35 points in their last two games against Cher okee and Hayesville,” he noted. Another large crowd is ex pected to be on hand to see the “Big Blue Machine” perform once again this Friday night.
