Congratulations are in order to the ladies of the Extension Homemakers Club of Cedar Mountain on winning third place in the scrapbook contest at the Achievement Day program held in Brevard. A beautiful display was also prepared by the ladies for this Achievement Day. They sure did a fine job on all that work. The monthly meeting of the Extension Homemakers Club was held at Mrs. Sadie Allison’s home Tuesday and a very inter esting program was presented. Mrs. Nellie Jones Was in charge of the refreshments. The Adult class of Blue Ridge Church enjoyed a class get-to gether at the center last week. The theme of their program was Halloween and they all had a real nice time. Word was received on Mon day of the sudden death of George Lade of Bradenton, Florida. He has spent many sum mers here in Cedar Mountain and our deepest sympathy goes out to his family. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ber nard Beasley for the weekend included Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Wise and children and Mr. and Mts. Louis Grinard and chil dren. Visiting the Craftsmans Fair in Gatlinburg last week were Mrs. Ruby Skerrett, Mrs. Rosa Robinson, Mrs. Marie Callender, MTs. Annie Wickliffe, Mrs. Rho da Jones, Mrs. Sadie Allison and Mrs. Bonnie Jones. The ladies had a real ni<* trip. Mrs. Barbara Jones is home after undergoing surgery at the Transylvania Hospital last week. All our get well wishes are sent to her. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Lane of Decatur, Georgia are spending the week here in Cedar Moun tain at their home. Our deepest sympathy goes to the family of Mrs. Alice Dix oh who passed away this week. She had lived in this commun ity for many years. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Wickliffe last Sunday included Mr. and Mrs. BOb Cathey, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henson and fam ily and Mr. and Mrs. . Frank Cathey all of Candler. Urey all enjoyed a delicious supper to gether. Miss Donna Logan celebrat ed her 12th birthday on Sun day with a party at her home. The girls all had a great time and enjoyed ail those hamburg ers and hot dogs. Mr. and Mrs. Rob Hamby visited Mr. and Mrs. John Ham by of Oak Ridge, TChh. week before last.
