Connie Wendell Cowan were
united in marriage Sunday,
November 14th, at 3:30
o’clock in the afternoon at
Glady Branch Baptist church.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Almond Hall,
of Route two, Brevard.
The groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Orris Wendell
Cowan, of Ellenwood, Geor

Wledding music was pre
sented by Mrs. Ronald Daniel,
soloist, and Mrs. Joe Smith,
organist.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length empire style gown
made of ivory silk organza
over bridal satin and was
appliqued with imported re
embroidered lace. The gowns
long sheer sleeves were made
of silk organza, heavily ap
pliqued with lace.
Her Cathedral length veil
was edged with scalloped
Alencon lace and caught with
a velvet bow.
She carried a cascade of
white mums and carnations
intertwined with ivy and cen
tered with a yellow Cattleya
orchid.
Mrs. Peggy Thompson, of
Atlanta, Georgia, sister of the
bride, was matron of honor.
She wore a floor length
empire style gown of moss
green velvet with short but
terfly sleeves of silk organza.
Her headdress was moss
green velvet with bows and
tulle.
Bridesmaids were Mrs.
Cathie Aust, of College Park,
Georgia, sister of the groom;
Mrs. Nancy Morris, of Spart
anburg, South Carolina; Mrs.
Lynn Dixon, of Brevard, and
Mrs. Katy Hooper, also of
Brevard.
They wore floor length em
pire style gowns of gold vel
vet with short butterfly
sleeves of silk organza and
headdresses of gold velvet
with bows and tulle.
David Martin, of Atlanta,
Georgia, was beat man.
Ushers were Phil Halit of
Brevard, brother of the bride;
Gregg Cowan, of Atlanta,
Georgia, brother of the
groom; Kenneth Love, of De
catur, Georgia, and Wiley
Tyner, also of Decatur, Geor
gia.

N. E., of Atlantai, Georgia.
The bride is a graduate of
Brevard Senior High school
and Blanton's Business Col
lege. She is presently em
ployed at Du Pont in Atlanta,
Georgia.
The groom is a graduate of
Joneseboro High School and
attended Georgia Tech, and
is presently a draftsman for
Automatic Sprinklet Corpora
tion in Atlanta, Georgia.

shower was held at the home
of Mrs. Jack Trantham at

ren, and Mrs. Ruth McCrary.

Mrs. Ken Love at their home
in Decatur, Georgia. A large
number attended.
Mrs. Orris Cowan, mother
of the groom, honored Miss
Hall with a tea from 3:00
o’clock to 5,00 o’clock in the
afternoon, on November 7th.

Kum-N-Do Club Holds Meeting
The Kum-N-Do Club met
at “Sally’s Valley” with Miss
Sally Weldon as hostess.
The devotion was an excerpt
from “Our Daily Bread” about
the seven mischeivous “Mis
ses” who are responsible for
all our troubles. “Miss Infor
Ktion, Miss Quotation, Miss
presentation , Mtss"^ Inter
pretation, Miss Construc
tion, Miss Conception and
Miss Understanding.
The members brought
Christmas ideas to show the
others. Christmas balls made
from Christmas cards, Christ
mas place mats with snap on
figures^ a bath mat with Merry
Christmas cross stitched in
the center, a bee hive pin
cushion, a boudoir pin cushion
made from jar rings, wax
candles, decoupage placques.
One of our members had at
tended Christmas House in
Charlotte, N. C. and showed
two ideas she worked up,
one a santa boot to hold a can
for cookies, and a small crisco
can made into a drum to carry
goodies to a child.
Mrs. M. H. Lawton gave a
demonstration in making pie
crust She gave the group
three secrets for a good pie
crust. One was an ingredient
in every house hold that would
make a flakv crust, especially
for the amatuer. Never pour
your liquid in one spot, and
never stretch your dough as
it will spring back in heating.

Christmas House.
The members voted to deco
rate a Christmas tree for the
Bazaar December 11 at the
Presbyterian church.
The club’s annual Christ
mas Party will be held at the
Red Lion Inn on Friday, De
cember 3rd. beginning at 7:00
p.m. All reservations must be
made with Mrs. Ron Brewer
by November 29th.
