The UNC-A B-team was be hind by 16 with 15 minutes left t.o go in the game and rallied to tie the score at 81-81 with five minutes remaining. It was a see-saw battle until UNC-A was charged with a rash of fouls. Brevard broke the contest open at the char ity stripe at the end. For the game, Brevard hit 24 for 39 at the line, while I NC A a hit only 16 out of 25. Championship Team Covered Dish Supper For Mites Reported Highly Successful Parents honored the Mites, Managers, Coaches and Cheer leaders with a festive covered dish supper on Friday Night., November 19, at the Junior High lunchroom. This was the first season for the mites to be undefeat ed and untied since organized in 1958. Winning the Western North Carolina Champion was the “top rung of the lad der” for these “mighty mites”! Larry Prince, Master of Ceremonies, recognized indi vidually each mite, manager and cheerleader. Each Coach was given a memorable ap preciation plaque from the team: George Limbo, seven years service; Joe Compton, 13 years service; and Charles Weiss two years service; all staffed this year’s victorious mites.
