This draw ing show is made up of works done this semester by freshmen art students. As a whole, the works show some interesting and fine ex amples of art. There are soft, swirly abstractions, harder geometric forms, and, to please the realist, some very fine sketches. All works show much work and effort with many be ing highly detailed and truly clever. All show a developing talent, and, indeed, some are very commendable. It would be impossible to mention each of the many works individually, but there are sev eral which are sure to please the amateur viewer. Take for example the two sketches of different views of a still life based on a newspaper box. The person who must see something familiar in every work will ap preciate the sketch in the mid- i die of the right wall. Yes. that’s 1 a well known campus landmark! The right wall holds many small gems. A very clever geo metric design is surrounded by an interesting patterened leaf, a dark and somber maze, and an intricately shadowed still life. The only suggestion for im provement is that the works be labelled as to title and artist, for many would be curious to know who did the works. The exhibit shows some very fine budding talent among the freshmen art students. Your challenge is to form your own opinion. v if nr (Eljnntmais attii fnr-curr 0He/ cMMm f!Rm A INgwtirtd trademark af Guertin Brea. Mfg. Carp.
