The Russian retorted. “We have equal freedom in Russia. For example, the entire Parkway was closed to traf fic approximately 2# days in January and 22 days in Feb ruary, phis several times for shorter periods during March and April. Another factor which con tributed to the decrease in visitation was the dosing of the section hem V. S. Route 220, south of Roanoke, Vir ginia, to Adney Gap (approx imately 11 miles) from Oc tober 24 tlD December 24 to permit repairs to a large washout at Mile 131.8 which resulted from heavy rains. Total camping on the Park way totaled 220,005 for the year, which is an increase of 1,830 over the previous year. Tent camping decreased slightly but trailer camping increased. Mr. Liles also re ports an increase in over night use of the concession accommodations along the Parkway. Construction continues on the 1-inile section of the Parkway around Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina; however, funds still have not been appropriated for com pletion of this project This is the last unfinished seg ment of the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway. Mr. Liles advises that the entire Parkway is presently open for travel and will re main so unless adverse weather conditions force clos ing all or sections of the roadway. Limited camping accommodations are avail able in four campgrounds— Otter Creek and Roanoke Mountain Campgrounds in Virginia and Price Park and Linville Falls Campgrounds in North Carolina. WiU Is Best When a person dies without making a valid will, he is con sidered to have died intestate. The property owned by him is distributed to his spouse and heirs according to the rigid specifications of state law. Says Management Economist R. C. Wells. North Carolina State University, “In almost all cases, a properly prepared will and testament will more effectively distribute property than the statutory laws.” NOTICE City Auto Stickers Are On Sale Now! --★ The code of the City of Brevard requires that all resident automobiles display a City license sticker on the lower right hand corner of windshield on and after February 16th.
