ter closed last Saturday night with a brilliant per
formance of he Romberg operetta “The Student
Prince”. It has been the Center’s best season, and
the excellence of the productions has spread the
fame of Brevard throughout the United States and

NORTH CAROLINA
A special bond election will
be held throughout Transyl
vania County between 6:30 A.
M. and 7:30 P. M., on Saturday,
September 16, 1972, at which
there will be submitted to the
qualified voters of said Coun
ty the following question:
Shall an order finally pass
ed on July 17, 1972, author
izing not exceeding $4,950,
000 School Building Bonds
of the County of Transyl
vania for the purpose of
providing funds, with any
other available funds, for
erecting additional school
buildings and other school
plant facilities, remodeling,
enlarging and reconstruct
ing existing school build
ings and other school plant
facilities, and acquiring
necessary land and equip
ment therefor, in order to
provide additional school
facilities in said County to
maintain the nine months’
school term as required by
Section 2 of Article IX of
the Constitution, and au
thorizing the levy and col
lection of a sufficient tax
for the payment of the
principal of and the inter
est on said bonds, be ap
proved?
The question hereinabove set
forth contains a statement of
the purpose for which the
bonds are authorized by the or
der referred to in said ques
tion.
If said bonds are issued a
tax will l>e levied upon all tax
able proj>erty in the County of
Transylvania for the payment
of the principal of and the in
terest on said bonds.
For said election the regular
registration books for elections
in the County of Transylvania
will be used and the registra
tion books, process or records
will continue to be open for the

The registrars will not attend
the voting places except on the
date of the election.
The last day for new regis
tration of those not now regis
tered under Transylvania Coun
ty’s permanent registration sys
tem is Friday, August 18, 1972.

moved residence from one pre
cinct or township to another and
have not transferred their regis
tration should contact the Coun
ty Board of Elections at its of
fice at the County Courthouse in
Brevard, or any registrar in the
County, and transfer their regis
tration.
The last day of transferring
registration is Friday, August
18, 1972.
Any qualified voter of the
County who is qualified to vote
by absentee ballot under the
provisions of the General Sta
tutes of North Carolina, particul
arly Article 20 of Chapter 163,
in a State - wide general elec
tion is authorized to vote an ab
sentee ballot on said bond ques
tion in accordance with said pro
\ isions of the General Statutes
relating to absentee voting. Any
qualified voter of the County
who is qualified to vote by ab
sentee ballot in said election
may apply for an absentee ballot
not earlier than forty - five days
prior to said election and not
later than 6:00 P. M.. Wednes
day, September 13, 1972, at the
office of the Transylvania
County Board of Elections men

certain whether they are reg
istered should contact the
County Board of Elections at
the office of said Board in
Brevard mentioned above.
