The bride-elect has attend Lamb’s Creek Club Meets The Lamb’s Creek Home maker’s Club held their monthly meeting on June 26th in the home of Mrs. Ed Sentelle. Miss Jean Childers present ed a very informative and helpful program on “The Art of Freezing and Can ning”. She mentioned three foods which should not be tasted before cooking at least IS minutes before eating. These were home canned beans, corn and beets because of Botulism which is a dead ly poison. Mrs. Nell Tinsley gave a committee report on “Fall Gardens”. An announcement was made from Jack K. Bradley con cerning “The Festival of Arts Fair” to be held in the Senior High School gymna sium on July 27th - 28th. The meeting was adjourn ed by reading the club col lect. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. -f ed Queens College in Char lotte; Furman University in Greenville, S. C. and Flori ida State University in Talla hassee, Florida. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. The future bridegroom has attended the University of Maryland, College Park, Mary land; Florida State Universi ty, Tallahassee, Florida; and the University of South Flor ida, Tampa, Florida. He will graduate in December from the University of South Flor ida and then join the Air Force. The wedding date has been set for August 11th. Four Cashiers area home owners have generously per mitted their homes to be opened for this tour, accord ing to Mrs. Jack J. Asbury, Jr., Chairman of the event. The High Hampton homes of Mr. and Mrs. Carleton Clark and Judge and Mrs. Stewart LaMotte, Jr., and the Sapphire Valley homes of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Beck er and Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Wulf comprise the four homes on this year’s tour. Meeting places for those wishing to make the tour are Highlands High School at 9:30 a. m. or the Cashiers Community Center at 10:30 a. m. where, as in past touts, tickets, transportation and guides will be available. The donation of $6.00 in cludes luncheon at Sapphire Valley Inn. Profits from this event are used in the vari ous civic beautification pro jects undertaken by the highlands - Cashiers Garden Club. Summer Program For Girls Is Being Offered A summer program of sports activities is being offered by the Recreation Department for girls of junior high age or old er at Brevard Senior High. Highlight of this summer fit ness program is a basketball league. Practice is now taking place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6:30 • 8:00 at the gym and team play fill be gin next Monday. The program has a free ac tivity period from 2:00 - 4:00 outside and from 4:00 - 5:30 in side the gym. Activities avail able under the supervision of Cindy Bellefeuil include volley ball, softball, ping pong, darts, badmitton and the track is avaiable for running and jog ging. For further information call the Recreation Department at 883-2050. Storytime At Library STORY TIME at the library for pre school children every Tuesday morning at 10:30. Mrs. Shuford Snyder is in eharge of the program and each Tuesday the children go to far away places on their magic carpets. Don’t miss a Tuesday for adventure is in store for you.
