The show will be at eithei "Silvermont” or at the Bre vard Senior High School. A later announcement will speci fy. Hours will be from 1:00 p. m. until 6:00 p. m. There will be a youth art show and con test-. Some of the rules for the show are as follows: —Each artist will be re sponsible for his own display. —A $2 registration fee will be paid to the Festival of the Arts. Contestants should mail this with their registration forms to the Brevard Chamber of Commerce, Festival of the Arts. —Participants must be reg istered no later than July 8th. No applications will be accept ed after that date. —Each artist must live in or be a member of an active art group in Transylvania County. Anyone wishing to partici pate in the Art Show may contact H. Henry Rogers by telephone (883-4347). An en try blank may be picked up at the Brevard Chamber of Commerce or from Mr. Rog ers. Many local artists are ex pected to participate in the festival. The show will give the public a good look at what , is being done by local artists and an opportunity to acquire orig inal paintings since many of the paintings displayed will be for sale. County Fair Plans have been made for a two-day fair to be held in the gymnasium of Brevard Senior High School July 27th - 28th. Sponsors hope that every section of the county will be represented this first year and that the Fair will be an annual event for years to come. The 1973 Fair will have special emphasis on better living. The purpose will be to give people an opportunity to see and learn about some “Op portunities For Better Living,” this year’s theme. The fair is sponsored by the Brevard Chamber of Commerce and the Transyl vania County Rural Develop ment Panel, which consists of representatives from most county and federal agencies, departments, and schools in the county. The fair will have three main departments: Farm Pro ducts, Educational, and Farm and Home Specialties. Each de partment will have both adult and youth divisions and these will be judged separately. 'A list of 35 farm products, fruits and vegetables will be judged on size, uniformity and quality in the Farm Products department. In the Educational depart ment, exhibits will be judged in Community Development, Youth Educational, and Non competetive Educational areas. Judging will be on pre sentation — simplicity, or ganisation, attractiveness — and educational value. In the Farm and Home Specialties department, exhibits of clothing, needlecraft. food Brevard College Summer Events Patsy Neal Basketball School, June 10-30 Three one-week sessions.
