Mr. Kelley noted that this is the first time these permits have been granted regardless of where a person lives. Pre viously, only persons living within or adjacent to a na tional forest could get them. “All we’re asking is that people contact the district ranger in person at the dis trict headquarters and adhere strictly to the specifications on the permit,” Mr. Kelley said. These permits may be ob tained from any one of the Id district ranger headquart ers in the state. Rites Held For Leo Petit 40 Leo Petit, 40, of Whitmire Road, Rosman, died unexpected ly last Saturday at his home. A lifelong resident of Tran sylvania County, he was em ployed by Du Pont for the past 16 years. Mr. Petit was a vet eran of the Korean Conflict and a 1993 graduate of Ros man High School. Surviving are the widow, Mr*. Barbara Bryson Petit; a son, Scott Petit of the home; the parents, Mr. and Mr*. Otto Petit of Rosman; two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Aiken and Mrs. Polley Galloway, of Rosman; and three brothers, Joe, Prank and Charles Petit, of Rosman. - Services were held Monday at Middle Fork Baptist Church.
