A reception wffl follow. A slide lecture will be pre sented at 7:00 p. m. in the J. A. Jones Library seminar room, and the public is cordi ally invited to attend all events, arfmi—bw free. An exhibition of Mr. Lewis’s works is on dis play in the library through March 21st. and the public is invited to come in and view the beautiful pottery. IDs works are available for purchase. Don Lewis is a professional potter whose work has been included in a national and in ternational exhibits sponsored by The American Craftsman's Council. The American Federa tion of Arts, and the Smith sonian Institution, as well as numerous regional and one-man shows. He received pottery training under Marguerite WQdenhain at her Pond Farm Workshop in Guemeville, California, and is a graduate of Furman Univer sity in Greenville, South Caro lina. Recently he received that institution’s Distinguished Alumni Award, for “outstanding achievement in your chosen field of endeavor that has brought honor to the universi ty." He has contributed articles to Ceramic Monthly magazine, and is included in the book Artisans of the Appalachians. He is part owner of the Twelve Designer - Craftsman shop in Gatlin burg, Tennessee, where a complete assortment of his pottery may be seen year around. He is • an exhibiting member of The Southern High land Handicraft Guild and Pied mont Craftsmen. Inc., and par ticipates in exhibits sponsored by those organizations.
