Six persons were baptized. The Rev. J.K. Pressley and Rober Blanton administered the sacrament. MISS GALLOWAY HONOREE The young women of Middle Fork Baptist Church will honor Miss Lorene Galloway, bride elect of Troyce Chappell witk white Bible service Sunday nighl at 7:30, at the church. Mrs. Ann Aiken will make the Dresentation. Miss Galloway was honored with a miscellaneous shower Friday night at the home of Mrs. Roger Chapman, with Mrs. Robert Chappell and Mrs. J.C. Galloway as hostesses. A yellow and green motif was carried out in the decorations. Mrs. Nick Lambert was in charge of the games. The honoree received many lovely gifts. The wedding will take place August 24th at the Middle Fork Baptist Chruch. “TIGERS” OPTIMISTIC Coach Lee Powell’s Rosman Tigers began the ’74 football season with a large turnout last Thursday, August 1. Along with Coach Powell, the assistant coaches, Jim Howell and James Rollins, are optimistic about their upcoming season. Even though it will be a young team, the players are enthusiastic and hardworking. “We’re young and inex ferienced,” says Coach Powell, but after we get a couple of ^allgames under our belts, we’ll (>e pretty tough. We have several key men back from last year’s team, and with this nucleus we pay surprise several of the (earns we play this year.” ;• The Tigers open with Tryon on ^ugust 30, at Tryon. Practice for the Midgets, Mites, and Termites, began Wednesday at 5 p.m. on the Rosman Youth Field. i Landall Whitmire, who is in charge, announces that the yreigh-in will be held Monday Sept. 9, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 b.m. Mrs. Dewey Broom is le mother of Mr. John F. uggins. Cub Scout Pack No. 711 Looking For Cubmaster Cub Pack 711 will be in need ol a Cubmaster this Fall. Marshal Welch, who was Cubmaster last year, is unable to maintain the post due to personal and business reasons. Mr. Welch says he enjoyed his year with the Cubs and thought it very rewarding. He will be willing to help in any way to assist the new Cubmaster and wants anyone interested to know that experience is not necessary. Anyone who is interested, is asked to contact Mr. Welch at 862-4443 as soon as possible because the organisational meeting should be held in Sep tember. Any mothers interested in haing a den leader or assistant den leader should call also. Cub Scout Pack 711 has had it’s charter for more than ten years. Mr. Welch urges that someone take the Cubmaster position so that the pack will not have to be disbanded.
