last meeting honored several of
their members for outstanding
wort done during the past
quirter of the Jaycee year.
Those receiving Jaycee of the
Month Awards were as follows:

Chuck Ramsey-July.

The Transylvania Nurses
Association is looking for items
for a White Elephant Sale on
Saturday, Sept. 28, at the V.F.W.
Hall from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and
would appreciate any items
anyone has to donate.
Jhis sale is for the benefit of the
nqi-sing scholarship fund which
gqes toward helping a local
student obtain training.

pick-up of items if you cannot
leave them at the V.F.W. Hall the
evening of Sept. 27 when mem
bers of the nurses association will
be there to accept them.
At the last monthly meeting
Sept. 17 an interested group
heard Don Morrison speak on the
legal responsibility of the nurse
in relation to the child abuse law.
Many questions were asked of
him and it was also pointed out at
this time there is now a similar
law in regard to neglect and
abuse of the elderly.
Fourteen members were
present at the meeting and one
new member joined at this time.
All registered nurses are
reminded that the meetings are
open to them and are held on the
third Tuesday of each month with
the exception of the summer
months.
The next meeting will be held in
the Sun Room at the hospital
rather than the extended care
wing since this is now in use by
the hospital.

Funeral Rites
2 P. M. Today
Dessie Monroe Reynolds, 75, of
Pisgah Forest died Tuesday
morning in an Asheville hospital
after a long illness. Mr. Reynolds
was a life long resident of
Transylvania County and was
retired from the textile industry.
Surviving is the widow, Mrs.
Julia Leroy Reynolds; two sons,
Wiliam, and Bobby Reynolds,
both of Pisgah Forest; a brother,
Juie Reynolds of Brevard; nine
grandchildren; seven great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Temple
Baptist Church of which he was a
member. Rev. Tom Smith and
Rev. Claude Conard will of
ficiate. Burial will follow in the
Dodd Cemetery, Seneca, S. C.
Pallbearers will be members of
the Temple Baptist Church.
The family received friends at
the Funeral Home Wednesday
evening from 7 to 9 p.m. where
the body will remain until placed
in the church 30 minutes prior to
the services today.
