Family Dollar Store Changes Pricing Policy Brevard residents don’t need to be told that inflation hurts. But one local merchant is trying to help. The Family Dollar Store at Brevard Plaza Shopping Center, is drastically changing its pricing policy. In fact, according to Thomas Israel, local manager, every item in the store will sell for $5.00 or less. In commenting on the change Mr. Israel said: “We feel that someone has to start holding the line. People’s income just can’t keep up. So we’re cracking down in our buying practices. We’re insisting that manufacturers make quality merchandise available to us at reasonable prices—or we just won’t buy.” Family Dollar Stores specialize in clothing and shoes for the family as well as itmes for the home and yard. The firm, which is putting its 208-store buying power to work harder than ever before, has just opened a new warehousing and distribution center. The resulting ef ficiency has made further price reductions possible. Young Man Nabbed On Drug Charge Robert Winston Greer, 19, of Glen Cannon Drive was arrested Monday by Hen-Tran Drug Enforcement officers and charged with possession with intent to sell a control substance — marijuana. The officers of the drug squad, a combination of Henderson County and Transylvania enforcement group, said that Mr. Greer, who is under $8,000 bond, had been under surveillance for some time.
