He Has Been Elected Superintendent Elizabeth City Schools. i i) (From the Raleigh News and Obser 1 . ver, July 26.) i Prof. E. R. Sentelle, who has been the head of Wakefield Academy, Wake county, for some years has been elected superintendent of tho public schools of Elizabeth, City, ami wil go to that place In the early fall to enter upon his new duties. Air. Sentelle is not now in Wake having gone to Haywood county to visit his father's family. Before going to Hay wood he stated to a friend that he expected to be elected to the position at. Elizabeth City and- would - aooept which would cause him to leave Wake county. .. , ,. - ' - Mr. Sentelle has made many friends in Wake county during his residence at Wakefield, where he has success fully conducted a high school and pub lic school. He was unanimously nominated to the House of Repreaen tatives In 1904 and faithfully repre semen tne county. He served on served on several lmtopanrtshrdlun several , important commltte in he House, and was one of the leading members on the com miiteqa on educa tion, often presiding when Chairman Murphy was on other committees. He greatly endeared himself to the peo pie of Elizabeth- City by his champion ship of the Ehringkhaus bill to estab lish a State normal at Elizabeth City. He will be welcomed as a friend bj the Elizabeth City people. Elizabeth City is me of the few prosperous towns in the State that does not levy a special graded school tax. Under the progressive leader ship of- Prof. Sentelle, that rich city will develop its public schools system and in a few years buihi handsome buildings and supplement the regula: school fund with a local tax. CAPT. PINNER BRINGS PARTY FROM EAST LAKE Capt. Fred Pinner brought over a party from East Lake Wednesday.
