A BOLD GANG OF SNEAK THIEVES- Nina Mors Eotbaries Soring Last week. There were two more robberies in Fayetteville last week, evidently by the same gang that has already com mitted a dozen or more robberies in the last two weeks. One night they visited the real dences of Alderman T. H. Maultsby, ou B street, snd Mr. John D. Williams, on St. James' Square. In each case they sawed the blinds to bed room windows, making a sufficient space through which to thrust an arm and abstract anything within reach. -At Mr. Manltsby's there were able to abstract bis trousers, from which they took his Docketbook. The trousers and, pocketbook with all its contents, save the money it contained, were found on the ground under the window this morning. Tbe gang has lit no case taken anything by which they might be connected with any robbery; money is all they touch. At Mr. John D. Williams' Mr. Gar on Jfaanpi who WM rlplng la eat of the rooms, waa awakened about o'clock by a noise, and, looking np, saw a man's arm thrnst through the window. He jnmped np and looked out ot the window in time to see three men, whom he thinks were white, dis appear down the street. Mayor McMillan has the entire po lice force at work on the case, besides he cff;rs a reward of 25 for their ap prehension. LITIS. Since the above was written seven more attempts (some successful) at rob bery last night have been reported to the police. All were similar as to tbe methoda adopted tbe eotting of tbe slats in the blinds to bedroom windows, with attempts to fish out clothing. In no ease waa any attempt made to act ually enter a boose. Tbe other houses visited by this bold gang of sneak thieves were : Messrs. 8. J. Ayer's and Herbert Willis's on Person street, and five houses occupied by colored people on Ramsey street.
