The re- mains were carried to the family home in Rockfish township for burial at 10 o'clock this morning, accompanied by a number of friends and a deputation from the Knights of Pythias, of which he was a member. i; Mora Bobbery. . On Saturday night the wholesale and retail Huske Hardware House on Hay-treet was entered by thieves, and pistols and cartridges to the value of $50.00 were carried off. ' . The company" is building another brick store tenement adjoining; and, as Maj. B. R.. Huske remarked this morning, they extended an invita tion to would-be thieves in the scaf foldin alongside the wall. The store was entered by breaking a second floor window on the west. The robbery does not seem to be the work of professionals, as they made no effort to open the safe. Death ol Mr. J. H. Ellis. Mr. JohnJH, Ellis died in this city at 6 o'clock Saturday morning, aged 70 years, and the funeral service will take place from the family residence in the northeastern part of the city at ; 3 o'clock to-morrow afternoon. The deceased, leaves a wife,, who before marriage was Miss Sallie Atkinson, and four children Frank, Walter, MrS j. Thomas Smith and Miss Alma Ellis. Mr. Ellis was forsome time engaged in business with his brother on Per unit street- under the firm name of R. T and J. H. Ellis. He was a faith ful Confederate soldier, always ready for duty, and enlisted early in the civil war in Company B, 13th battal ion light artillery, and served to the close. ' .'. . ... V.G.Smith united i marriage Mr. Alston Chestnut and Miss Irene King. Miss Loula King, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and little Ruth Martin was the pretty flower girl. The attendants from a distance were Mr. Register, of Bladen county, and Miss Irene Register, and Mr. J. D. Truelove, of Wilmington. L After the ceremony the guests were invited into (he dining room, where an elegant supper was served. Mr. and Mrs. Chestnut left this morning to make their home at Magnolia. The total movement since September 1st is 6, 956.959. against 7,909,988 last year. The total takings ot American Mills, North, South and Canada, thus far for the season, have been 2,108,808, against 2,053,515 last year. Stocks at the seaboard and the 29 leading Southern interior centres' have increased during the week '52,- 278 bales, against an increase dunng the corresoondincr oeriod last season of 66,650, an'dare now 84,891 greater than at this date in 1904. Including stocks left.ayeri, at ports and interior towns-froin the last crop and number of bales brought into sight thus far from the new crop, the 'supply to date is 7,401,490, against 8,071 ,955 lor the same period last year. A Vacant Place In Soldiers' Home. Jr. M. Carter, a Confederate veteran, died athe Soldiers' Home, Raleigh, on Thursday evening, and the funeral services took place yesterday after noon. He was from Jamestown, Guil ford county, and during the civil war was a member of Company G, 2nd N. C. Infantry. OBITUARY.
