Dear Sir: Referring to the matter of" a public park which is now engaging atten tion, I beg to say that I will sell one to the city, ready made, the fruit ox many years of expensive and careful work, a park second to none in this region and with a superb club house included a house and ground known to thousands of summer visitors from all over the south. I refer to our home, -The Dog woods, with which you and the citi zens of Hendersonville are well acquainted. It is unnecessary for me to enlarge upon the beauty and de sirability of this property. In ac quiring it, Hendersonville would be placed in a unique position among southern cities. It is safe to say that there is no other city in the south that would have such a combination as this a park in its perfection of hpautv united to a handsome and ex pensive club house. The ownership of this property in addition to the hanniness and Dleasure which would come to the public in its enjoyment would give to Hendersonville a peculiar prestige and would advertise t.hA ritv far and wide. It is hichlv orobable that with its rapid development Hendersonville will be called upon irom time to time to receive and entertain distinguished miests. and there would be a pardon able pride for the entire community at such times, to throw open uie doors of this house and welcome visitors to its beautiful and rare in terior. .
