The Bar Association Convention.
The Bar Association held a meeting
last' Friday to make proper arrange
ments for the entertainment of the
State Bar Association, who will hold
their annual convention in this city in'
July,beginning about the eighth. Satis
factory arrangements haye been made
with the different hotels. A. A. Gates,
of the Hotel -Gates, A. C. Johnson, of
the Blue Ridge Inn, and C. S. Wheeler
of the Hotel Wheeler have all decided
to give low rates, altho' the convention
will come at almost their busiest sea
son. 1
- There will probably be 600 people in
attendance at the convention, including
the State "Supreme Court judges and.
many other distinguished men.
Col. S. V. Pickens attended the last
meeting of the association determined
to land the convention . for this city if
possible, and the fact that Henderson
ville is to be so honored is due to the
13 21 Colonel's untireing efforts at that time.

sonville Times-Union, of the 5th.
'A very quiet marriage of visitors to
Florida took place at the First Presby
terian church yesterday morning at 10
o'clock. . It was the marriage of Mr.
Arthur W. Calhoun, of Hendsrsonville,
N. C, to Miss Marie Thompson, who
has been spending the winter in Florida.
The ceremony was performed by Rer-.
W. E4 Boggs, D.D., pastor of the church.'
in the presence of a few friends. The
bride was becomingly attirtd in a going
away gown of brown cloth, with hat
and gloves to match.
Mr. Calhoun is a descendant of the fa
mous Calhoun family of South Carolina
He is a prominent business man of Hen
dersonville, N. C, being engaged in
the wholesale grocery business in that
city.
Mrs. Calhoun is a native of Chimplaia,
111. She hes been a frequent visitor to
Florida, spending considerable time at
Daytona, and other points where she
has a jiumber of friends. She is a most
charming young lady.
Immediately after, the ceremony llr.
and Mrs. Calhoun left for Abbeville, S.
C, the home of Mr. Calhoun's family.
After visiting that place for awhile
they will go to Hendersonville, where
they will make their future home. "
