True PytlMsm.
The following able address was
delivered by Mr. Frank Smith J
i
before Tahkoestee Lodge No.
185, K. P., at Fletcher, Monday
night. It is needless to say it
was keenly enjoyed by the large
audience present.
T am sure that each one' of
us know what true Pythianism
means. It means to be true and
faithful to the order of . Knights
of Pythias and its principles.
Anyone who joins the Pythian
order must be willing to be true
and faithful to the same. Be
true and loving to our brothers.
This is just like the little maxim:
"If you have friends you must
first be one," so also if we have
brothers of our order we must
first be one. We as a band of
co-workers are united together
by a tie of friendship to bring
us closer together. .What plea
sure would we have in this life,
living apart from our fellow-men
as they did in days gone by? I
am proud to know that such an
organization as the Knights of
Pvthias has arisen for those who
) join this order, it brings him in
I closer touch with his fellow
worker, and changes his way of
living, and especially if he com-
plys with its principles. My
brothers in order to keep our
organization together, we must
prepare ourselves in such a way
that we may be truer Pythians
Lets each one of our order from
now, henceforth, to try to be
truer Pythians than we ever
have in the past. It is not meant
for us to live for ourselves alone,
but to live for one another also.
I would be glad that we all could
live such a life that when the
time has come for the white
robed Angel of Heaven to visit
us we may be able to say as Paul
of old said, "I have fought a
good fight, I have finished my
course. I have kept the taith.
Henceforth there is laid up for
me a crown of righteousness."
I
