Miss Elizabeth Garland is expected home this week from Spartanburg, S. C. Miss Kate Shipman has been visit ing her brother, J. E. Shipman and family. Sergeant Ernest Duff, of San An tonio, Tex., a brother of J. D. Duff, is spending this week with him. The Syncopated Sextette orchestra will give a program at the Kentucky Home on next Sunday afternoon. Peeples has secured his discharge from service in Charleston, S. C., and after a visit to his wife' here went to Valdosta, Ga., to engage in business. At the Methodist church last Mon day evening, the officers, teachers and other Sunday School workers met to prepare for the Sunday School drive which will begin next Sunday. Those who possess pieces of-antique furniture should devote personal attention to them, and especially to any of old oak, which should be kept in condition by periodical rubbings with flannel dipped in a mixture of beeswax, oil and spirits of turpentine.
