FOREST an COURIER FORES! CITY, IM. C PUBLISHED EVERY THURSDAY PRICE 51.50 A YEAR IN ADVANCE J. L. O. THOMPSON, EDITOR Entered Aug. 22. 1918. at the Postofflce at Merest City. N. C , & second ciass matter jnder act of Congress-of March 3, 1879 Michael Schenck's Judicial Candidacy Endorsed by J. O. Bell, Former Citizen of Rutherford County. - j To the Voters of Rutherford County: | As a former citizen of Rutherford County, I desire to call attention to the candidacy for the democratic nomina tion for Judge of the 18th Judicial Dis trict of Mr. Michael Schenck of my present home county of Henderson. Mr. Schenck was born in Lincoln County 43 years ago, was educated at the University of North Carolina, and iias practiced law in Henderson County more than fifteen years where he now ■enjoys to a full extent the professional confidence of his fellow countymen, having a clientage among our best citi zenship. He served more than five vears as Solicitors of the 18th Judicial District, being twice elected by the people, and resigned that office only to enter the army in time of war. His action in thus giving up a civil office to enter the military service was prompted by patriotic motives and accompanied . by personal sacrifice. In addition to being a lawyer of abili ty and experience, Mr. Schenck is a progressive and energetic citizen, hav ing served as President of the Board of Trade and Mayor of Hendersonville, and having been actively identified with practically every movement during the past fifteen years looking toward the upbuilding and uplift of this community. EP endorse "Mr. Schenck's candidacy, and ask your endorsement thereof at the primary on June sth, because an intimate acquaintance with him for more than twelve years convinces me that he is an able and experienced law yer, a patriotic and active citizen, and a God-fearing and Christian gentleman, and gives me every confidence that he 5? eminently fitted for the duties and merits the honors of the high office of judge.
