ETHEL CLAYON PICTURES HAVE APPEAL THAT WINS AUDIENCE "A Lady in Love" is Example of Human Note Struck by this Popular Young Star. Do you enjoy seeing motion pic tures in which folks you know play the different roles? If you do, you are an admirer of the type of screen entertainment which Ethel Clayton has been offering lately. Here is one star who seems bent upon portraying us as we are. Her stories have that intensely human note, which somehow warms the cockles of a film au dience's hearts as no lavish set ting or "stunt stuff" can do. In "The Thirteenth Command ment," the picturization of Rupert Hughes' strong story, Miss Clay ton demonstrates that the wife who spends more than her hus band earns and gives nothing in return is, to say the least, a very poor sport. "Young Mrs. Win throp" was a deserved success, be cause Miss Clayton in a thor oughly sympathetic and appealing manner portrayed the young wife w ho seeks indiscreet pleasures be cause her husband's over-devotion to business gives frequent periods of lonesomeness. Surely a com mon enough state of affairs. And now Miss Clayton is coming to the Movie Theatre on Feb. Bth in another of those attractively human "A Lady in Love." In this one, she is a sheltered con vent girl, in love with love, who marries unwisely and lives to rue it. Of course, there is another man, and happiness awaits them at the end of a troublous trail. Harrison Ford is. the leading man. Walter Edwards was the director, and it is a Paramount Artcraft picture. "THE WORLD AND HIS WIFE" A Rhymed Review (By Russell Hoi man) When Feodora married The rich mlan of Seville, The tongups of envy carried The news. (They're never still!) "That young Ernesto's coming To live with them, folks say," So gossip's voice was humming Upon her wedding day. "Her husband's so much older Than she; and youth calls youth." Then rumor, growing bolder 1 , Strayed off the paths of truth. And people stooped to pander To lies from hearts unclean. Could love survive the slander? The answer's on the screen.
