NEWS OF INTEREST FROM HENRIETTA Sophomores Entertain Seniors At Banquet—Faculty Mem bers Entertained; Locals. Henrietta, March 24.—The Soph omore class, of the Henrietta-Caro leen High school entertained the seniors at a banquet at the Iso-Ther mal hotel, Friday evening. The se nior class colors, green and white were carried out in the decoration of the dining room. Miss Bertha Mcßorie then sang very beau tifully, "When the Stars Are Shin ing." Toast was given to school by THE FOREST CITY COUKISft Miss Mae Harrill. Response by Prof. J. B. Jones. Last was a song to seniors by the sophomores and song to sophomores by seniors. The se niors present were: Misses Grace Mc- Mahan, Inez Waters, Cupid Wiseman, Vena Camp, Ruth Blanton, Ruth Robertson, Ruth Lynch and Mr. Wal ter Mahaffee. All the seniors were present except Miss Emily Camp. The sophomores present were: Misses Bernice Jenkins, Etna Bridges, Maie, Harrill, Lucille Sher lin, Mallie Scruggs, Lois Whisnant; Messrs Charles Doggett, James Ham rick, Jack Alexander and Melvin Harris. Misses Elizabeth and Vernie Hames spent Sunday with Miss Grace McMahan. Mr. M. M. Neal and son, J. D., spent the week-end in Union, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Harmon, of Gaffney, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Reid, of Greenville, spent a few hours in town Thursday. I The members of the Henrietta | school faculty were honor guests at ! a party given by Prof, and Mrs. J. i B. Jones at their home in Caroleen on the evening of March 18th. Part ! ners were found for rook and soon a lively game was in progress. After which the guests were asked to show their knowledge of the moving pic ture world by means of a unique pic ture contest. Miss Lucile Wall prov ed to be the "movie fan" of the fac ulty and was awarded an attractive chocolate easter egg. Delicious re freshments were served by Mrs. Jones after which good byes were said. Those enjoying the hospital ity of Prof, and Mrs. Jones were Misses O'Lema Flack, Sallie Wacas er, Bertha Mcßorie, Mary Ella Clegg, Phoebe Day, Minnie Lee Fagan, Blanche Burke. FORTUNE-TOMS Mr. Ulysses M. Toms and Miss Mayo Fortune were married at the home of Rev. C. C. Matheny at Alex ander on last Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Toms is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Harb Fortune, on Route 2. Mr. Toms is the son of Mr. J. C. Toms and a splendid young business man, being connect ed with the Flack Hardware Co.
