Mr. and Mrs. Theron Wilson of Notasulga, Ala., visited Miss Nora Freeman and other relatives and friends here last week. Mr. Memory Freeman accompanied by his sister, Miss Alda Freeman, of Forest City and Messrs. Ivy and Carl Cowan of Spir.dale, spent last Sun day with the former's uncle, Mr. G. A. Dobbins at Rock Hill, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bradford spent the week-end with the latter's moth er, Mrs. Davis of Lincolnton. Miss Marion Clayton of Laurin burg is visiting Mrs. J. S. Rudisill. Miss Clayton has taught here in the public school for the past two years, but will be a member of the faculty at Forest City this year. Miss Vera Thompson of the post office force is spending this week at Laurens, S. C. Dr. F. Bobo Scruggs spent last .Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Scruggs at Rutherfordton. Misses Mildred and Nellie Blanton of Shelby spent the week-end here. Miss Nora Robbins has returned from a visit to her home near Sulphur Springs. Mr. H. C. Aldridge spent last week in Asheville. Mr. Erastus Freeman of Forest City was a pleasant visitor here last week. Miss Wilma Bland who is in train ing at the Shelby Hospital spent Mon day here. Mr. J. C. McLeod and family visit ed at Chimney Rock Sunday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Garvin have for their guest this week Mrs. Garvin's brother, Mr. James Darby of Ander son, S. C. "Mr. A. T. Humphries spent Sunday in Hendersonville. Messrs. G. K. Moore, Jr., and Dan Hawkins of Hendersonville spent the week-end here at their homes. Dr. Zeno Wall of Goldsboro, was in town this week. Dr. Wall will preach at Baptist church tonight. (Tuesday.) Rev. T. C. McDaniel has returned after assisting his son, Rev. Ed Mc- Daniel, in a meeting near Morgan ton. Rev.
