CT Leaders of Washington Society like their beverages "bubbly" and direct from the bottle, which fashion prob ably was set by President Coolidge whose fondness for ginger ale is well known. Florence Village, Forest City, June 14.—Miss Beatrice Seay cele brated her 11th birthday June 12 by entertaining a crowd of her friends with a birthday party from 6 to 9 o'clock. Those present were Alifair, Earline, Britt and C. L. Roberson, Ruth and Inez Burnett, Sudie Mae and Ruth Atchley, Ruth and Gwen dolyn Proctor, Velma Harris, Bertha Lawter, Alice Coffey, of Alexander, Mary Hamrick and Miss Edith hughes, of-Caroleen; Madge Scruggs, Master Albert Burnett, Miss Evelyn Roberson and Rubylynn Burnett. Many games were played. Refresh ments served were cake, ice cream and lemonade. All went away wishing Beatrice many more happy birth- j days. Miss Eutha Nabors, Miss Jesse Proctor, Mr. Ray Reep and Mr. Restelle Flack motored to Chessnee Sunday. Miss Julia Mae White, Mr. and Mrs. Brack Hardin and family, mo tored to Cherry Mountain, Sun day. Miss Myrtle Seay nad as her guest Saturday night, Miss Julia Mae White. Mr. B E. Hamrick had the mis fortune to hurt his finger badly Sat urday. The Florence Mill ball team played their first game of ball this season at Oak Grove, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Condrey and son, Buster, and Miss Mallie Brad ley, spent the week-end in Chim ney Rock. Mr. Marshall Henderson spent the week-end with home folks. Mr. and Mrs. L A. If you are not attending Sunday school some place we would be glad to have you come there. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Otto Green June 11a fine girl, Margaret Flora. Both mother and baby are doing fine. The B. Y. P. U. of Florence Bap tist church had a delightful time on a "Moonlight pound supper," Saturday night at Mr. Flack's. Those present were Misses Owana Champion, Glessie McGaha, Callie Hall, Rose and Nellie Lytles, Ida, McGaha, Eutha Neighbors, Blanche and Blandena Doggett, Jessie Pi*oc tor, Myrtle Seay, Julia Mae "White, Elise Proctor, Ina and Bertha Lynch, Cordie and Valtie Bell Brackett, Irene Reid, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Flack, Messrs. Ray and Worth Reep, Restelle Flack, John Brackett, Tero nia Champion, Bronson Ben necks, Frank Prais, JacK Proctor, Newell Shepherd and Mr. Wortan Hall, from Chesnee. All went home feeling fine with happy hearts. Misses Glessie and Ida McGaha en tertained a host of friends Sunday afternoon, refreshments of ice cream and cake were served, afterward they hiked to Mill Creek and had a de lightful time making pictures. Those present Misses Glessie and Ida McGaha, Clara and Avis Lynch, Callie Hall, and Myrtle Seay and Elise Proctor; Messrs. Burton McGaha, Newell Shepherd, Otis Mc- Gaha, Worton Hail, E'rl Harrison. Everyone had a delightful time and enjoyed themselves.
