Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Holler and Dan, went to Asheville Monday to attend the fair. Miss Cora Mashburn attended the fair last week at Pleasant Garden and visited her sister, Mrs. W. S. Rice. Mr. John Keeter and children, of Forest City, visited Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Nanney, Sunday. Saturday night, November 13 there [ will be a box supper at the con solidated school building, beginning at 7 o'clock. There will be other amusements. Everybody is cordially invited to come. Don't forget the date and come and bring a box. ORDINANCE An act to prohibit and regulate the parking and placing of public cars and taxis on the streets of Forest City and to define a place therefor. The Mayor and Board of Com missioners of the Town of Forest City do ordain: Section I—That on and after the 22nd day of November, 1926, it shall be unlawful for any public trans fer, public car, or taxi to be park ed on the public square or any of principal streets of said town or in front of any place of business save for the purpose of taking on or dis charging passengers. Section 2—That for the purpose of taking on or discharging passengers any such public transfer, bus, or taxi may park or come to a standstill £pr the purpose aforesaid for a pe riod not longer than ten minutes. Section 3—That in order to regu late the parking of said automo biles the north side of East Main street from a point at the corner of Sinkoe's store east to the Powell street extension, including said ex tension, is hereby set aside and de clared as a parking zone and district for all such public cars and taxis. Section 4—That any person or per sons violating any of the provisions of the foregoing act and ordinance is hereby declared guilty of a mis demeanor and punishable by a fine of $5.00 for each offense, and the Mayor of said town may for further violations cause such person or per sons' license to be revoked. MOSS, Attorney. 3-4t AN ORDINANCE At a regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Forest City, held in the Mayor's office, on Friday, September 24th, 1926, the following ordinance was passed: Be it resolved: That on and after November Ist, 1926, all water and light bills are due and payable at the Mayor's office, town of Forest City, N. C., on or before the 10th day of each month. That service will be discontinued where bills are unpaid by the close of business on the 10th day of the month. That a service charge of afty cents (50c) will be mads for rt-con necting any meter that may have been disconnected for failure to pay bills when due. That a collection charge of fifty cents (50c) will be made on all bills unpaid after the 10th day of the month and placed in the hands of the service department for collection. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this or dinance are hereby repealed.
