Please let each member be present on Thursday, May 12, Kiwanis Hall. 1 Meets With League of Women i Voters j On Thursday afternoon the citizen ship department met in a joint meet ing with the Rutherford County League of Women voters in the High school building. After the regular form of business was over Mrs. Chas. Gold, President of the League of Women Voters, in a very gracious manner introduced the speaker of the afternoon, Mr. B. T. Falls, of Shelby, wfto spoke in a very pleasing and in telligent manner on the "Australian Ballot." He showed in a very plain and conclusive way why we should adopt the Australian Ballot. Mr. Falls was very complimentary of what the Woman Clubs of Rutherford County stood for and for the splendid work they were doing. After Mr. Falls address all were invited down to the cafeteria of the school building where ice cream and two kinds of sandwiches were served. The Presi dent Mrs. G. P. Reid called for a meeting after the guests had gone, to take up some matters of interest to the Club that would come up this week in Durham at the State meeting. The Citizenship department voted to send to Capt. B. L. Smith, chairman [ of the drive in Rutherford county for j relief for the flood sufferers, a check i for SIO.OO, the treasurer of the gen ! eral club was also instructed to send I SIO.OO for the same cause. Mrs. Aim was formerly connected with the Farmers Bank and Trust Co., here where she made many friends. * * * * Rev. and Mrs. Jimmie Jones, and little daughter, of Morristown, Tenn. arrived here Monday to visit Mrs. Jones' parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Moore, Rev. Jones left Tuesday for Louisville, Ky., to attend the Baptist State Convention. He will return to Forest City next Monday for a few days visit.
