has said it is more blessed to give
than to receive and the Lord loveth
a cheerful giver. The meeting was
then turned over to Mrs. A. H. Mc- ,
Daniel, chairman of Adam's circle.
Prayer by Mrs. Lipscomb. An excel
lent program was rendered by this
circle. Subject: "The Holiness of
Divine Government." After the pro
gram all joined hands and sang,
"Blest be the tie that binds." Dis
missed with the Mizpah benediction.

I Rutherfordton, Dec. 14. —Mr. J. Y. '
Yelton, clerk of court, announced
yesterday that the pension checks for
Confederate veterans and widows of
veterans had arrived and could be
secured from tiis office by calling
in person for same. Mr. Yelton states
that no new names of soldiers have
been added to the list, but that there
were a few new names of widows
of veterans that had been placed on
the list.
