The Young Matron's Club of the

After the program was finished

Steve, little three-year-old son of

along as nicely as could be expected.

"Madame Butterfly," which was sue-'

was an ideal setting for an oriental {
garden. Japanese lanterns, cherrv
blossoms, incense burners and mini- j
j ature temples were used throughout
the spacious drawing room and music
room.

The hostesses were attired in Jap- i
anese costumes and were assisted in ;
' receiving and serving by Misses Lilah j
, Padgett, Gladys Chesson, Marjorie ;
Padgett and Gloria Price.
At the conclusion of the program,'
Mrs. T. R. Padgett introduced Mrs.
Smith, from Cliffside, a former mis- :
i
sionary to Japan, who gave a dem- i
onstration of a tea in Japan, which
was greatly enjoyed by the club.

The "Golden Tornado" kept on
blowing through the second quarter
and when the half was over they were !

the Shelby team, led by the brilliant j
playing of Singleton and Poston, sub- i
stitutes, got started and when the i
third quarter ended the score was 28 j
to 15 in Forest City's favor.
McSwain led the scoring for the j
visitors with five points while the
work of Singleton and Poston, who r
went into the game late, was out
standing.
Captain "Guinea" Blanton led the
scoring for the locals with 10 points
while the playing of Moss, at center,
and McKeithan and Laughridge, at
guard, stood out for the winners.
Whitlock, who substituted for Big
gerstaff, did some excellent playing.
