A large number were at the funeral at Walls. Flower girls were, Misses Wilma Bridges, Vernia Dycus, Vergie Owens, Myrtice Bowen. Pall bearers were Mr. Loren Davis, Iris Melton, Oran Melton, Guy Butler. Four more of the little children have measles, two of them have pneumonia with them. The bereaved family have the sympathy of friends and neighbors. We hope the other lit tle children will soon be well again. Miss Akla Pettys spent last Satur day night with Miss Myrtice Bowen. Miss Dorcas Bridges was a visitor of Miss Myrtice Bowen's Sunday af ternoon. Mr. Leo Hawkins, of Greeneville, S. C., was a visitor at his aunt Davie Bridge's last week. Miss Pauline Dycus gave a birth day party on last Friday night in honor of her cousin, Mr. Loren Davis. All present had a delightful time. Miss Dorcus Bridges and her uncle, Mr. George Bridges, motored to Casar and spent the day on last Thursday. Mr. Coran Callahan has smallpox. Mr. George Bowen and family, of Alexander, spent last Saturday night and Sunday at Mr. Oscar Bowen's. Mr. Randolph Price, of Gastonia, spent Saturday night at Mr. Broadus Murkes. There will be preaching services at Robbins Grove Wesleyan Metho dist church every Sunday night. Mrs. Bud Dixon Is recovering from a serious illness. Her friends will be glad to note the improvement. Mr. Hoyle Robbin's children are recovering after having the whoop ing cough. Mr. Marlin Ramsey's family have the whooping cough. Mr. Pruett Biggerstaff and family, of Gaffney, S. C., spent last Saturday night at Mr. George Bridge's. Mr. Clarence Gantt and family, of near Mooresboro, were visitor's at Mr. Dool Robbin's Sunday. Mr. J. Walkers family have meas les. Little Robert Dycus has the measles. Mr. Lee Swink and family motor ed to Forest City Saturday after noon. GOLDEN VALLEY Bostic, R-4, March 11.—Mr. Plato Jones had the misfortune of getting his house burned last Wednesday night. He had been cleaning; out the house on the day that it burned, and fixing to move into the hou The origin of the fire is unknown. There was no insurance on the house. The many friends of Mr. Letcher Rollins, and Miss Mary Sue Gamble will be surprised to hear of their wed ding which occurred recently. Miss Gamble is the attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Zeno Gamble. Mr. Rol lins is the popular young son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Rollins, Sr. Then* many friends wish them a long and successful life. Mrs. Horace Keetan lias been se riously ill with acute indigestion, and is slowly improving. Mr. A. McCombs was very sick Saturday night, but is better at pres ent. Mr. Claude Melton has been se riously ill with measles and is slowly improving. Miss Mallie McCurry and her brother, Lester, spent the week-end with their sister, Mrs. Essie Mc- Combs, at Cliffside. Miss Nannie Melton motored to Fallston on business Monday. Mr. Bud Upton and family, of Spindale, visited Mrs. Upton's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley McCur ry Saturday. Misses Mary and Nannie Melton visited their grandmother Saturday afternoon, Mrs. J. R. Melton. Mr. Ben McCurry and family spent Sunday with Mr. McCurry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley McCurry. NEW QUICK LUNCH STAND Mr. Quinn Kendrick has opened a new quick lunch stand in the cafe building between Carroll and Byers and The Leader Store. The place has been thoroughly overhauled and is as clean as a pin. He will give first-class service and asks his friends to give him a call. Quinn's hot dogs are creating a special demand and the other cafe service is attracting attention. He has installed a new shoe shine stand and will erect an awning there in the near future. PLAY "THE LITTLE CLOD HOPPER AT ELLENBORO Ellenboro, March 12.—A play, The Little Clodhopper, will be given Saturday evening, March 17. The haracters the play will be im personated by the following Ellen boro High school students: Ocey Gump. Vernon Jones. Septimus Green, Ewart Burns. George Cliggerson, George Helton. Miss Julietta Beam, Nannie Mae Helton. The Little Clodhopper or Judy El liott, Jessie Martin. Chairman Cai'ter, Willedn Baber. Mrs. Chiggerson-Boggs, Julia Price. The play will begin at 8 o'clock, Saturday evening. Miss Rogers, the Ellenboro music teacher, will have charge of the music during the eve ning.
