Lovelace, Jr., entertained thirty-five of his little friends, the occasion be ing his ninth birthday. The spacious lawn was free to the children, where many games and contests were ' enjoyed. After the games the cliil- I dren marched to the dining room to \ see the birthday cake with its nine j candles burning. The birthdjay cake was cut and each child took a piece, then Mrs. Lovelace, assisted by Mrs. Charles McCurry, of Cliffside, served j the children to "Snappies."
