Hipp filled his regular appoint ment at Oak Grove Sunday morning. He preached an interesting sermon. We about one hundred and fif teen present for Sunday school and several others came for the preaching service. On account of the rainy Sundays for some time and measles and a number of other diseases in the community, our crowd at church has b'een rather small, but our Sunday school seems to be increasing now and since winter is about over and most of the' sick folks seem to be nearly well we're hoping all the folks will come back and help build up the Sunday school again. Miss Mlary Green spent one night last week with her cousin, Miss Belle Wilkie. Mr. D. K. Miss Vonnie Greene and Mr. Ro land Linzey surprised their many friends by getting married Sunday. They were both students at Hetn i rietta-Caroleen High school. We wish them much joy and success in their new venture. Mrs. Isaac Lancaster, of Caroleen, and Mrs. Elmer Price, of Shelby, spent Sunday at Mr. J. S. Bedfords. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Beam, of Shelby, were visitors at Mr. M. B. Beam's Sunday. Mr. Lawrence Wall and family, of s Caroleen, have recently moved to our community. We welcome them. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Tate and Messrs Clarence and Odell Tate were visitors at Mr. L. D. Wilkies Thursday night. Thieves seem to be plentiful in this community. We have heard cf several houses they have visited the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Chivous Tate, of the Mt. Pleasant section, were visitors at the formers parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Tate's one night last week. Miss Clara Randall is on the sick list this week. We hope she will soon be well again. Mrs. Jane Walker, of Bostic, spent last week visiting relatives in this community. Mrs. Mary Blanton spent the week end with her sister, Mrs. Berry Me- Curry at Cliffside who is very ill. Mrs. J. M. Randall spent one nighc last week with her sister, Mrs M. E. Hawkins. Mrs. Ina Biggerstaff, Mr. Nollie and Master Dwight Biggerstaff and Misses Hazel and Edith Biggerstaff spent Friday night with Mrs. Carrie Hardin at Cliffside. Messrs. J. Wilkie, of near Melvin BETHANY NEWS Forest City,R-2, April 3—We are having some real spring weather just at the present, and the farmers are all busy getting their ground turned Rev. Z. D. Harrill filled his regular appointment at Bethany Sunday. A large crowd was present to hear him. Memory, the six-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Sherrill had the misfortune of falling out of his coas ter wagon last Tuesday and break ing his right arm. Miss Nellie Sherrill visited Miss Pauline Doggett Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Lewis and two children visited Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Lewis, of Green Hill, Sunday after noon. Mr. Charlie Hardin who works in Long's Drug Store fell in the store last Thursday anl sprained his ankle. Hill, was a visitor at Mr. L. D. Wil kie's Sundjby afternoon. Miss Mary Green visited Miss Bes sie Walker Monday. His many friends hope he will soon be able to walk again. Several of this section attended the colored people's singng at the courthouse at Rutherfordton Sunday afternoon. Miss Ruth Lewis spent last Friday night and Saturday with Memory Sherrill. Miss Nell Doggett spent Sunday with Miss Zelma Sherrill. Mr. and rs. Bill Carroll and fam ily and Mr. and Mrs. Alton CaTrolf were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mr. Ransom Huntley. Several from this community at tended preaching services at the Florence church, Forest City, Sun day afternoon. Friends will be sorry to hear of the illness of Mr. H.
