ELLENBORO NEWS Ellenboro, July 10. —Mrs. M. H. Flack has been very sick for the past ten days, but is very much improv ed now. Her sisters, Mesdames John Long and Albert Bridges, of Forest City, also Mrs. Mattie Bowman and two daughters of Greer, S. C., have been to visit her during her illness. Mr. Corbitt Mauney, a Seaboard employee of Blacksburg, S. C., has been on a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mauney. Mrs. Walter Wilson and daughter Nelda, accompanied by Mr. William Parker, of Lenoir, were visitors dur ing the past week at Mrs. J. L. El liott's. Mr. Jake Beam, an employee, of the C. C. & 0. He re turned to his work Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Posey Flack, of For est City, were here Sunday to see their mother, Mrs. M. H. Flack, who has been real sick for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Orell Wright have j been spending a few days with Mr. ! and Mrs. J. L. Elliott. Charles Melton, son of Mr. and i Mrs. Julius Melton, aged about three ' j years, died at the home of his par- j | ents Thursday and was buried at j 1 First Broad Baptist church Friday, j ! July 6th. He had been a sufferer i from a lingering illness for a long time. He was the youngest of ten children. The funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Mai'- j tin Gold, of Mt. Pleasant. Miss Vera Hamrick, is off for her j vacation from the Hollis Mercantile ! Company's store. She will leave in a few days for Waxhaw and Charlotte to spend her vacation. The Junior Girls' Sunday school class spent a very pleasant day at the Mill reservation Park Thursday. A most delicious picnic was served to the following: Hisses Lorene and Mary Etta Harrill, Addie and Ruby Hamrick, Margaret and Nell Pedg ett, Nell Culbreth, RutK Hughes, Ev elyn Teddar, Bonnie Melton, Zudie Harrill, and Mertice Hamrick. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Hamrick enter tained at a delightful party at their home here Thursday evening, hon oring their nieces, the Misses Go forth of Cliffside. Large bowls of pink roses, Queen Anne lace and lark spur were used as an effective dec oration. Among those present in- j eluded Misses Zudie and Sara Harrill, Mertice, Mary and Ellen Hamrick, Maud Wright, Louise Beam, Mary Melton, Louise Elliott, Hermenia, Hamrick Lorene Culbreth; Messrs. Ewert Burns, Morris and George Hamrick, Laxton Hamrick, Levy Burns and Emmett Hamrick. Hostess served cream and wafers. Prof, and Mrs. A. B. Bushong re turned last week from a delightful fifteen day motor trip through the state of Virginia, with stops at many interesting points. They greatly en | joyed the many object of interest on the trip. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Whisnant of Shelby, also Mr. and Mrs. Ed Martin were among the visitors at Mrs. Elij ah Martin's during the past week. Mrs. Nallee and two boys, Robert and George of Ft.
