COLLEEN MOORE AT THE
MOVIE WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 12
i
In "Oh Kay!", the new First Na-1
tional picture, the screen's leading
feminine box-office attraction—ac
cording to a recent nation wide poll
of theatre owners-—and filmdom's
youngest director, are brought to
gether.
The star is Colleen Moore and the
director is Mervyn Leßoy.
"Oh Kay!" was scenarized by j
Carey Wilson from the famous mus- j
ical comedy success by Guy Bolton, i
P. G. Wodehouse, George Gershwin I
and Ira Gershwin.
In "Oh Kay!", Miss Moore is said j
to have one of the finest comedy |
roles of her film career. It is in
striking contrast to the star's two
recent big successes, the First Na
tional special, "Lilac Time," direc
ted by George Fitzmaurice and
"Happiness Ahead," written for her
by Edmund Goulding.
Mervyn Leßoy has made a rec
ord for successful direction after
three years as a comedy constructor
for, Miss Moore's films. He first
handled the megaphone on "Flying i
Romeos," featuring George Sidney j
and Charlie Murray, and then on
"Harold Teen," from the newspaper
comic strip of world-wide fame.
John McCormick produced "Oh
Kay!" for First National Pictures.
Lawrence Gray is Miss Moore's lead
ing man. Others in the support are
Alan Hale, Ford Sterling, Claude
Gillingwater, Julanne Johnston, Ed
gar Norton and many others.
"Oh Kay!" will be the attraction
at the Movie Theatre, Wednesday
evening, September 12.
