SUPERIOR COURT HAS ADJOURNED Docket of Civil Cases Practic ally Cleared at Time of Adjournment Thurs day Rutherfordton, Sept. 10.—The August term of superior court for trial of civil cases adjourned here Thursday afternoon after practical ly clearing up all cases on docket. A few cases continued for lack of wit nesses, etc., were carried over. The following were disposed of since the last issue of The Courier: Wilkins vs. Doggett, non suit. Watkins vs. Crocker, continued. John W. Lee vs. P. D. Morrow. Suit for damages to child of Lee when run over by defendant's auto mobile. Non suit when plaintiff fail ed to appear and prosecute his case. Arena Mills vs. Thomas Bailey. Plaintiff recovers judgment for $7lO, borrowed money purporting to be ow ing her by defendant. Erwin Withrow vs. Citizens Bank, Executors, defendant to cancel note and mortgage against plaintiff on the payment of $30.00 and cost. Citizens Bank and Trust Company, of Union, S. C., vs. J. C. Hampton, j Judgment for plaintiff in the suit of I $711.62. Defendant appeals. Spurgeon M. Taylor al. vs. M. J. Harrill. Judgment for*s 1200.00 and cost in favor of plaintiff, (automo bile accident near Chimney Rock). Defendant serves notice of appeal. Mrs. T. M. Geer vs. W. E. Wilson. Judgment in favor of plaintiff in sum of $90.00 and interest. J. T. Camp vs. J. N. Honeycutt. Plaintiff declared owner of sedan de scribed in complaint and contract ex ecuted by defendant cancelled. • Ruby Smith vs. George Smith, di vorce granted. In the matter of claim of Rachal Lavendar vs. Jac Burgess, adminis trator of J. L. Noblett, award of arb itrators approved. Plaintiff awarded $4900.00. FLORENCE MILLS Forest City, Sept. 11.—The re vival meeting at the Missionary Meth odist church came to a successful close Sunday night, after three weeks duration. The meeting was conceded a won derful success, as there were thirty eight professions of faith. The Florence Mills resumed oper ations Monday morning after one week of curtailment. Miss Eutha Neighbors is quite ill at her home, corner Harmon and Madison streets. Mr. Ira Davis and family spent last week end visiting relatives on Bostic, R-3. Relatives and friends of Mr. John Price, gathered at his home on Lib erty St., Sunday at noon, and gave him a surprise birthday dfnner. His friends wish for him many more years yet. Mr. Joe Porter and family spent part of'last week visiting relatives in South Carolina. Mr. G. S. It seems that some have the idea i that the club is exclusive, and that no one except members are allowed to attend. This is not the case. The meetings of the club are open to any who wishes to attend. A representative of one of the large condensery companies has been in Alamance to look over the situa tion in respect to establishing a branch factory. Much over 100 tons of lime has been ordered cooperatively this fall by the farmers of Mineral Springs community in Durham County. ALEXANDER NEWS Alexander Mill, Sept. 11.—The Alexander school is progressing nice ly. Prof. Allison and his teachers are working hard to put the school on the standard accredited list this year. The teachers are now working to get new books in the library and supplementary books in each room. Parents are urged to keep their chil dren in school every day unless it is necessary for them to stay out. A revial meeting will begin at the Baptist church September the twen ty-third. Rev. C. C. Matheny will con duct the services and Mr. Karl Jord an, of Lattimore, will have charge of the singing. The pastor and his Christian workers extend to every one an invitation to these services. Sunday .school teachers are urged to strive hard to get the unsaved peo ple of the town into their Sunday school classes before the meeting lo gins. The children of Mr. A. L.
