Henrietta-Caroleen is very proud of the fact that out of 83 schools in North Carolina she is one to have no percentage of failures in college. A large and appreciative audience saw the Henrietta-Caroleen Senior play, "Two Days to Marry," which j was given at Harris Friday night. Mrs. S. J. Asbury, who has been ill for some time, is much improved. The gymnasium of the Henrietta- Caroleen High School is now com pleted a regular basketball practice has started. The boys and girls are taking much interest. MT PLEASANT NEWS Forest City, R-2, Nov. 19.—The Mt. Pleasant Sunday school complet ed their Sunday school study course last week and had a successful week. Mrs. L. D. Wilkie, and Miss Belle Wilkie, Mrs. Delia Randall spent last Tuesday night with Mr. A. G. Ran dall. Mr. G. A. Davidson and family spent Sunday at Mr. Davidson's. Miss Mattie Toms spent last week with her sister, Mrs. J. P. Randall. Mrs. J. O. Toms and Mr. Dewey Summers are on the sick list. Mr. P. L. Kennedy and family spent Sunday evening with Mr. J. W. Matheney. Mr. Toy Summers visited the mad stone Friday and it stuck seven hours. Miss Mallie Matheney spent Satur day night with Miss Mary Green. Mr. and Mrs. M. S. OAKLAND NEWS Forest City R-2, Nov. 19. —School opened at Oakland November 12, with a good enrollment, considering the whooping cough epidemic. Prof. H. K. Logan, principal, Mr. Bridges, of Bostic, Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. Smally of Spindale, Miss Edwards, of Rutherfordton and Miss Beam, teachers. The Mt. Vernon B. Y. P. U. came to Adaville Sunday night, November 11, and gave a program. It was real good and was enjoyed by a large crowd. • Rev. Jack Haney and family, - of Greenville, S. C., spent the week end with Mr. E. M. Diveney's. Mr. Mote Carpenter and family spent Sunday at Mr. E. M. Diven ey's. — l — cars, one driven by Mr. Jones the other by Mr. Leonard Hughes, had a wreck near Oakland Monday morning. Both cars were damaged. No one was injured. Mr. Mack Ramsey and family, who have lived heije for the past two years, moved to Spindale last week. Those on the sick list are Mr. ; Wt H.
