Mr. and Mrs. Josh Harris spent Sunday with the latter's parents at Glenwood, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Harris have gone to Charlotte today with their small son, Billie, to consult a spec ialist. Miss Olive Stott, of Marion, spent the week-end with home folks here. A marriage which came as a sur prise to their many friends was that of Miss Minnie Ledbetter to Mr. Roland Ledbetter. They motored to Gaffney Saturday and were married. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hall spent Sunday with the latters brother, Mr. William Crawford, of Marion, who is very sick. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Williams spent Sunday at Rutherfordton with their son, Paul, who is sick with "flu". Mr. Ollis Wilkerson, of Biltmore is visiting relatives here this week. Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Rutherfordton, R-l, Dec. 10.—Mr. and Mrs. Horace Thompson had the misfortune of getting their house burned down last Wednesday about one o'clock. They were away from home at that time and nothing was saved. The house was owned by Mr. John Vassey. There has been lots of sickness in this community for three weeks but most all of them are about well again.
