The Cliffside News The Cliffside News is published each week in connection with The Forest City Courier. B. E. ROACH Editor THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 1929 We thought we were going to get to "write up" another wedding, but when we approached the groom (?) he declared it was "a false alarm." We thought at first that he was a bit timid about admitting the fact that he was "tied to the apron strings," and asked him to just tell us all about it, but he declared there was nothing to tell, so that's that. How ever, just wait! BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES The subject for Sunday morning was "Trees." Account of the rain the attendance at Sunday School was off some. At the close of the service Dr. Oren Moss was received into the church by letter from Grover. We cordially welcome him and would be glad if many other Baptists living here with membership elsewhere would also unite with us. The subject Sunday evening was "The Fall." This was a great mes sage revealing God's love as shown in His plan of Redemption for fallen men. MATHENY—McSWAIN Well, the wedding bells have start - ed ringing here again. I One advertisement in The Courier Jis worth two mail-order catalogs in ithe attic. Stop and Think "Why do millions more people ride on Goodyear Tires?" i To save yourself the bother and cost of re-discover ing a fact which many millions of other car owners have already proved beyond all doubt- Before anyone "talks" you into accepting'some thing else, STOP AND THINK—"Why do MILLIONS MORE PEOPLE ride on Goodyear tires." Car owners have absolute freedom in their choice of tires. Any of the many different makes are easily obtained. Yet MILLIONS MORE PEOPLE regularly buy Goodyear tires AND WILL HAVE NO OTHER KIND! Why? • Is it because Goodyear advertises more frankly, more convincingly? Many people have been persuaded by advertising to TRY Goodyear tires. But everyone knows that this is all that advertising can do. Futher purchases depend solely upon the superior perfor mance of the product. No, the real reason why millions more people ride on Goodyear tires is this: MOTORING EXPER IENCE PROVES GOODYEARS TO BE THE BEST TIRES IN THE WORLD. • Most car owners have been driving for years. They have experimented with many kinds of tires. By the costly process of comparison they have learned the truth about tires-AND THEY NOW ALWAYS BUY GOODYEARS. Why is Goodyear able to make the best tires and yet charge no more for them? First, Goodyear-for 14 years now-has been the largest manufacturer of tires in the world. Producing many millions more tires than any other company at lower costs. Second, Goodyear-with its tremendously greater resources-has created, patented and controls many ways for producing the finest tires at the cost of ordi nary quality. j You get our watchful, helpful, year 'round service and you pay no more-frequently less-for a Goodyear, which will carry you thousands of extra trouble-free miles. There's a genuine Goodyear at any price you care to pay, from the new improved Pathfinder Tread type to standard and heavy duty All-Weathers and that - "tire of tires" the Double Eagle.
