Mr. Harris resides on Bostic, R-2 and Miss McCrane is from Spindale. After a short wedding trip they will be at home on Bostic, R-2. * * # Sorrels.Dean, The marriage of R. K. Sorrels of Forest City, well known son of V. 0. Sorrels of Gilkey, to Miss Myrtle Dean of Forest City, was announced last week. It was performed by Rev. J. W. Parker at the Methodist parsonage, Gilkey, on November 9 and was kept a secret until last Reek. Both are well known young people. ¥ * * Reel-Dixon. Blanton and children, and Miss Bernice Kanipe were shop ping Wednesday in Spartanburg. Mrs. Jack Michalove and Major Dave Glickman were shopping Thurs day in Asheville. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Dorsey, of Charlotte, will spend the Christmas holidays here with Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Dorsey. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Fagan will visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. E, Fagan and Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Blackburn in Polk county, during the Christmas holidays. Mr. Earl Fortune, Jr., and Master Russell Blanton, left Monday to spent the Christmas holidays with Mr. Fortune's father in Dante, Va. Miss Dorothy Thornton, of Mul lins, S. C., and Mr. and Mrs. J. E. McCarty, of Winston-Salem will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chas Z. Flack during the holidays. Mrs. Gardner and daughter will visit relatives in Rockingham during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Weathers spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Weathers in Shelby. Dr. and Mrs. L. C. Adams and baby, of La Grange, and Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Ogburn and baby, of Smithfield will spend the holidays here with Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Dixon Smith spent last Monday here with Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Weathers. They were enrouto to their home in Columbus, Ga., from Hot Springs, Ark., where they attended the lumber convention held in that city. Mr. John W. Dalton returned home Thursday night from a business trip to St. Louis, Mo. Miss Dana McDaniel, of Charlotte, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Keen, of Goldsboro, will spend the holidays here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McDaniel. Mr. and Mrs. E. 0. Thomas and children left Monday to spend Christ mas with their relatives in Kentucky. Misses Ruth and Eleanor Meares i and Mr. Arval Alcock spent Wednes day afternoon in Spartanburg. Hobgood, 47, who died j at his home in Morganton Friday af ternoon of a stroke of paralysis, was conducted at Oxford, his former home, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock ' from the home of his sister, Mrs. F.
