Kead cir- | CLIFFSIDE NEWS We are glad to have Mr. Q. W. Lemmons back home from the Ruth erford hospital where he recently underwent an operation for appen dicitis. He is doing fine and expects to be out again soon. Mr. Laurence Blanton will have charge of the local filtering plant taking the place of Mr. Jess Smith resigned. Mr. Blanton has been with Mr. M. O. Proctor at the Cafe. We understand that Mr. J. L. Proctor will assist his brother with the cafe. Miss Mavorean Lemmons left last Friday for Washington, D. C., where she entered training at the Emer gency hospital. Miss Aileerj Gold left last Saturday to enter training at Watts hospital at Durham, N. C. His many friends here were shock ed to learn of the death of Dr. Ro meo Hicks which occurred at his home at Henrietta Sunday night, or early Monday morning. Another one of our "pioneers" has.passed on. Miss Lillian Street of the Ellen boro school faculty accompanied by Mr. Glenn Doggett of Forest City were visitors here Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hoyle Lovelace.
