A. wedding of interest to a wide J cir.le of friends of the contracting! parties, in Rutherford and Cleveland j counties, was that of Miss Lala Davis j ar.d Mr. Carl Weaver. The wedding] to ;.k place at the home of the bride j in Alexander, and her pastor, Rev.. A. W. Lynch, performed the cere-; ni.ny in the presence of a few close relatives of both parties. The cere-j incny took place in the living room | which was 'appropriately decorated for the happy event. Mrs. Weaver is the attractive and lamented daughter of Mrs. D. N. Dsvis, of Alexander), Mr. Weaver is a progressive young J farmer, and is a son of Mr. and Mrs. j Weaver, of Boiling Springs. Immediately after the ceremony | the young couple left for an extended ■ trip to Burnsville and other points in ; Western North Carolina, and on their return will be at home in Alex ar- der. Dalton, prominent young merchant of this city, was taken to the Rutherford hospital j Tuesday, # f olio wing a severe attack: Sunday night, at which time it was fchou,ghjjt he seriously ill for several hours. Not showing improve- i ment by that time it was thought best to take him to the hospital Tuesday.! Reports from him at noon Wednes-' j I day were to the effect that he was i resting easy and that as yet it was not determined for sure what the' trouble was. At first it was thought j ;that he had suffered an attack of acute indigestion, but later it has' been thought possible that he was aifected with gall stones. An exami-1 nation was to have been made Wed-j nesday afternoon to try and deter- J mine the exact nature of his trouble. \ Mr. Dalton has been a very sick man and his many friends were a , larmed at his condition for a while, , but are all now hoping that he has j made sufficient recovery to be out i of danger, although he may have to j undergo an operation following tha 1 X-ray examination, if it is found that! he has gall stones.
