METHODIST CHURCH NOTES. Services for Sunday, July 13, Sun day school, 9:45 a. m. Epworth Lea gue 6:30 p. m., church service at p. m. Prayer meeting Wednesday was well attended. The League had a rhort program which was enjoyed. We are glad we have a League for our young people and hope the par ents will see that their young folks attend regularly. The league meets every Sunday at 6:30 p., m. There has been around fifty who attended these meetings. We are anxious that the league grow. Are we parents doing our part. Our Sunday school which meets at 9:45 every Sunday had an aver age attendance. We would like to have 200 present every Sunday. Last Sunday being the first Sun day our church service was held at 11:00 o'clock Sunday morning. The attendance was good. Beginning with this service our pastor started a puz zle. To all who were present he gave a card and on this card is printed a letter with this letter as the first letter of several words. This will last until September then each person is to put their cards together and see what the word is. Of course if one misses a card their puzzle will be un solved. Object: be present every service. Rev. Rhinehardt preached a ser mon which we all need on "Warn ings." His text, Ezekiel 33, part of the sth verse; "but he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul." Every one received a warning before ! destruction or death. If we read the Bible it is filled with warnings and we don't want to see ourselves, therefore we do not read our Bible but the newspaper instead. Our biggest warner is our conscience. We often sear our conscience so we a-1 gain miss our warnings. Some peo ple talk all the time and never say anything, just make a lot of noise. An empty wagon makes more noiso than a loaded wagon. God has given us examples of warning of His dis pleasure and the punishment. The Flood; Sodom and Gomorrah; Pha raoh's hosts lost, Nebuchadezzar. Bel shashar and Herod. Warnings are so cften unheeded.., We should take warning first, to avoid suffering and save ourselves from future punish ment, Let's be grateful and heed that warnings, for to be separated from Jesus eternally is Hell. If we take warning we have His word that we shall deliver ou'r souls. BAPTIST CHURCH NOTES. The Music school closed last Fri day night and after two weeks of study there is to be noted an im provement in the music. Arrange ments ara being made to continue the study of music every Friday af ternoon. The pastor brought a fine message based on Rom. 11:13 and a seven piece orchestra and piano and or gan aided the choir and added much. Several from our Sunday school attended the Sunday School Conven tion held Sunday afternoon at Fair view church at South Mountain In stitute. The Livingston B. Y. P. U. won the banner Sunday evening. The eight unions were well attended. The Scripture lesson for the even ing hour was Luke 14:12-24 and the subject was "Busy People." Because the pastor had stated that he would probably be away on his vacation the fourth Sunday many of the younger folks as well as older ones felt that it would be too bad to miss the usual young people's ser vice usually held on the fourth Sun day. Several spoke to the pastor and he has announced that the young people's service will be held next Sunday morning and his subject "The Automobile." Rev. Hunnicutt takes some familiar object for his subject for these services «and brings messages that are not only interest ing and helpful to the young folks but to the grown up people as well. The Judson B. Y. P, U. will en tertain of the Livingston union with all B. Y. P. U. General Officers on Thursday night of this week. We are glad that Mrs. J. A. Hun nieutt, wife and co-worker of our pastor was able to return home Saturday evening from the Presby terian hospital at Charlotte where The Cliffside News she spent last week.
