IN NEW JERSEY
Former Rutherford Woman
Passes —Funeral Held Sat

Mrs. W. H. Ware, aged 49, a form
er resident of Rutherford county,
died at her home in Mays Landing,
New Jersey, Wednesday, September
10, following a nine days' illness of
heart trouble. Funeral service was
held from the home of her daughtei,
Mrs. Pauline Lotman, at 3420 West
Fourth street, Chester, Pa., on Sat
urday morning. Immediately after
the funeral service interment took
place in the Lawn Croft cemetery,
at Chester, Pa.

Mrs. Ware had made her home in
| Mays Landing, N. J., during the past
| two years. Prior to that she was a
resident for fifteen years, of Ches
ter, Pa.
Mrs. Ware was a consistent mem- i
ber of the Baptist church, where she j
joined in young womanhood, and j
had lived a christian life. She had a j
large number of friends in Ruther-1
ford county who are sorry to learn j
of her death, and offer to the bereav- j
ed family their condolence and sym-}
pathy.

the home of the former in honor of

Two days recently spent in East
ern Carolina convinced a group of
farmers from Anson county that the
soybean is a valuable soil building
and hay crop.

McDOWELL-BLANKENSHIP
WEDDING ANNOUNCED
Ellenboro, £ept. 15.—0f interest
to many friends here and elsewhere
is the announcement of the marriage
of Miss Hattie Blankenship, of
Lenoir, and Mr. Clell McDaniel, of
Ellenboro, which occured at Gaffney
September, 7, with the Rev. E. T.
Abernathey officiating. Only a few
firends witnessed the ceremony.
The bride was becomingly dressed
in tan crepe ensemble with acces
sories harmonizing. She is the at
tractive daughter of Mr. Joseph
Blankenship of Lenoir, and received
her education at Boiling Springs and
Lenoir-Rhyne college.
The groom is the youngest son of
Mr. and Mrs. Fisher McDaniel, of
Ellenboro. For the past several years
he has been an employee of the Chi
cago and Rock Island Railroad,
stationed at Pratt, Kan. He has been
at the home of his parents for the
past four months, recuperating from
illness.
Following their marriage, they left
for a tour of the principal towns of
the Western States, and Mexico, af
ter which they will live at Pratt,
iKan.
Revival Begins At
Spindale Soon
Spindale, Sept. 15.—The young
men's and men's bible classes, as
sisted by the ladies classes of the
Methodist church, will give a chick
en supper in the educational build
ing Friday evening. The proceeds
from the supper will be used to pur
chase some supplies for the Sunday
school and for other purposes. Ail
who wish £o '.attend are cordially
invited to do so. The supper will be
served from 6:30 to 9:30 p. m.
A steward's meeting was held at
the Methodist Sunday im
mediately after Sunday school. A
report from the treasurer revealed
that the church was in fairly good
financial shape, the collections be
ing only about SIOO behind the col
lections at the same time last year.
Mrs. C. L. Steidley, noted evan
gelist of High Point, N. C., will be
gin a series of revival meetings at
the Spindale Methodist church Sep
tember 28. Mrs. Steidley has don
extensive and successful evangelistic
work in many portions of the United
States, and attracts large crowd'
wherever she goes. She comes from
High Point, N. C., home town of
Rev. Geo. Stephens, who recently
conducted the county-wide Taberna
cle meetings at Spindale. High Point
is also the home of the pastor of the
Spindale Methodist church, Rev. W.
Arthur Barber. The evangelistic ser
vices will continue for two weeks
with preaching twice daily by Mrs.
Steidley. The public is cordially in
vited to hear this gifted preacher and
evangelist.
