CLIFFSiDENEWS Cliffside. Dec. 30.—Despite the fact that many people had not re-; turned from their Christmas visit- j ing, last Sunday was a good day i with us. According to our custom of each fourth Sunday morning the j service is planned especially for the j young people. The pastor read iix- j odus 35:30-35 and his text was the last verse. The subject was "I Weave my Web of Life." Rev. Hunnicutt had or. the desk a number of tow els he had secured from the mill here. There was only one perfect towel in the lot. The others all had some defect and he explained how all the imperfections were caused. The lessons and applications were helpful to all. ■ At this service we were delight ed with special music by two little girls aged seven and eight years, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Robinson of Greensboro, N. C. They sang beautifully a duet and then Mrs. Robinson and the little girls; sang a trio. | The B. Y. P. Us. had a fine at-! tendance again Sunday evening and j the banner was won again by the Judson union, one of the senior un ions. For the evening: service tlie pastor read Phil. 3 and the text was the 13th verse, or a part of it. "Forget ting; those things which are behind, and leaching- forth unto those things which are before." The subject was "Turn loose and catch on." In speak ing of the New Year he said we would do well to turn loose all the things that are not for our good and catch on to the things that are good and helpful. The subject for next Sunday morn ing will be "The Glory of Going on." Mr. Robert Robertson will conduct the prayer service Wednesday night' of this week. The W. M. S. sent 39 fine large cakes to the Alexander schools at j Union Mills Tuesday of last week I raJHJHJHJHJHJEraiEJEJzmrgjHje jHfEiHiajarejarEjEmrajErErarereiziiJEJHfarajHiEJßizjarHJH^ I First National Bank I c | m , |. | \~tr~' ' I j j|l A New Chapter j I IN Time's Book stands open to you.
