S Circle No. 2, of thi Methodist Woman's Missionary Society met Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Bert Moore. The meeting was opened by singing "Jesus Calls Us''. After the secretary read reports, the new year books were distributed. Officers were then elected as fol-- lows: Chairman, Mrs. Bert Moore; vic* chairman, Mrs. J. T. Harris; secretary, Mrs. Chas. Flack; treas urer. Mrs. Jolm Dalton, chairman social service, Mrs. J. T. Harris, voice agent, Mrs. H. B. Doggett. Tlie devotional was conducted by Miss Nell Young, who used as a theme of worship "The Lordship of Christ recognized and acknowledg ed." The scripture lesson was the tenth chapter of Mark. Mrs. John Daltcn then discussed "Stewardship and Partnership, followed by Mrs. Charles Z. Flack, who discussed "Stewardship and property," and Mrs. Walter Smith who discussed "Stewardship and Missions." Church cards for 1931 were giv en out. The social service report was as follows: thirty-five visits; nine trays and clothing given valued at $27.50. The meeting was dismissed by pray er by Mrs. J. F. Alexander. "GO TO CHURCH" MONTH BEING OBSERVED Spindale, Jan. 6.—"Go to Church" month is being observed in Spindale during January. All denominations are participating. Teams from each church cover the town each Sunday morning and call on all the residents, urging them to attend church. The choice of the church to be attended is left to the persons being called upon. A large increase in attendance was noted at all the churches la*t Sunday. » x ELMORE CORP. Jan. s.—James William son, aged 38, died in the United States Veteran's hospital here Thurs day, where he had been confined for nine years and three days as a re sult of illness contracted whi'e serv ing with the A. E. F., in France. A short funeral service was held at Oteen with Chaplain Wayne Will iams in charge. His body was taken to his home in Sally, Aiken coun ty, South Carolina, where services were held Sunday morning at eleven o clock with Rev.
