Among those present were Misses Libbie Ray, Louise, Hilda and Mavis Smart, Pau line Spratt, Ruth and Alice Harrill, Xantippa Padgett and Beth Bridges. Messrs Sherral and Carl Walker, Rodney and Woodrow Bostic, Odell Jones, Norris Smprt, Sherman Pad gett, Carl Philbeck and James Webb. Everyone present reported a nice time. Mr. Oscar Padgett and family spent Sunday at the home of Mr. Ship Harrill's. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Watson, Mr. C. C. Merk and family were visitors at Mr. W. A. Bridges, Sunday. Misses Ruth and Alice Harrill were the week-end guests of Miss Xanti ppa Padgett. Mr. Walter Bridges and family spent Sunday at Mr. J. C. Bailey's. THIEVES ARE ACTIVE AROUND ELLENBORO Ellenboro, Jan. 12.—Thieves en tered the smokehouse of Mrs. Blan ton, who lives near Ellenboro and stole a quantity of meat and iard. Investigation showed they had gain ed entrance through the roof. They also entered the Southern Railway station here and took some money from the cash box. Several trunks and a quantity of merchandise were also reported to have been stolen. R. C.
