Z. McDonald. Mrs. Henry Carson is spending this week in Spartanburg, S. C., visit- ing relatives. Mrs. John Weir and children of Shelby, visited Mrs. W". G. Trout Thursday and little Miss Jean Jones accompanied them home to spend a few days. Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Cole are re ceiving congratulations since the ar rival of a fine little girl March 23 Both mother and baby are doing nice ly. Mrs. J.- G. "COUNTRY GENTLEMEN" WIN TWO BALL GAMES Ellenboro, March 31. —The "Coun try Gentlemen" of the local high school, defeated Belwood and Cliff side on the home field by the scores of 18-5 and 1-0. Callahan pitched a nice game a gainst Belwood and won an easy game as his team mates led by Wil son, G. Allen and Greene pounded out 20 hits for a total of 18 runs, j i Red Wilson was the real hitting star j of the day as he collected 5 hits out | of 6 tries, including one home run, j triple, doubles and single. The game with Cliffside was fea tured by the brilliant fielding of both teams. "Pipe" Owens held the Cliff side lads to just one hit and scored the winning run himself as he se cured the best of the pitching duil with Smart who, also hurled a nice game. "JUST IMAGINE" TO BE CAROLINA, SPINDALE The picture "Just Imagine" whose story is laid in 1980 and is said to be the funniest production to be made this season, comes back for one day at the Carolina, Spindale. El Brendel is featured in this rib tickler and is said to be better than in any previous effort of his. Manager Sipe states that this production was the best received of any picture played this season and due to numerous requests it is being brought back for one day. "KICKED OUT OF COLLEGE" TO BE GIVEN AGAIN Henrietta, March 30.—The Senior class and faculty of Henrietta-Car - oleen high school will present for the second time the very successful play, "Kicked out of college", a comedy in three acts, Saturday night, April 4, at Caroleen elementary school. This play was given last Friday night at the high school before a large audience. The play was a suc cess in every way, and many have re quested that it be given again. The senior class is planning to leave for Washington on April 10, to be gone for five days. The pro ceeds of this play will be used to help defray the expenses of the trip.
