C. 40-4fj Will Select Leaders Among 4-H Clubs Those 4-H club members who have clone exceptional work and have rep resented North Carolina at national gatherings - will be gathered into an honor organization at the annual short course for club members to be held at State college during the week of August 3 to 8. "For some years we have wanted to set apart those club members who have rendered exceptional service to their local communities and to the state," says L. R. Harrill, club lead er at State "Our plans are now to do this at the next short course during the first week in Au gust. Those boys and girls who have represented the State at the Nation al Club Camp in Washington, at the International Training School at Springfield, or who have done ex ceptional work in their local com munities will be formed into an honor society. The recommendations of the home and farm agents will be followed largely in making the se lections." This will be only one feature of the club meeting, however, Mr. Har rill the program will be filled with instruction and recreation. The club members will gather Monday evening, August 3, and will begin class!. room work early Tuesday morning. Classes will be held each morning with the afternoons devot ed to demonstrations, sight-seeing trips, games, contests, and other ac tivities. The evening hours will be given over to impressive vesper ser vices. Crowning of the King and Queen of Health for the State will be an interesting occasion. This will be preceded by a health pageant in which those boys and girls who have won in the county and district con tests will take part. Mr. Harrill looks for a large at tendance this year. There are now about 26,000 club members in the State and representative delegates from this number will attend the short course.
